Volunteers

What is a BLAST Volunteer?
There are different types of BLAST Volunteers. From directly working one-on-one with a child or youth to assisting our organization with various events or projects, almost anyone can help change the life of a child. BLAST Volunteers include:

Academic Mentors
College student volunteers act as Academic Mentors working directly with one student or a group of students. They act as a supportive role model and assist children with literacy skills and homework.

If you are a college student interested in becoming an Academic Mentor or need information about volunteering through one of your college courses (i.e. application, requirements, paperwork, etc.), click below.

Interns
BLAST is always looking for voluntary interns to work in areas such as:
    -  After School Programming
    -  Special Events
    -  Marketing/PR
    -  Photography
    -  General Program/Office
To apply for a BLAST Volunteer Internship or to see what internships are available, email leslie@lbblast.org.

Event Volunteers
BLAST can use volunteers to help coordinate special events by sending mail outs, acquiring donations for events, making phone calls, etc. If you would like to lend a hand with an upcoming event, drop us an email at info@lbblast.org.
