Keeney, Academic Mentoring Program Director

Leslie Keeney holds a B.S. degree in Human Services from California
State University, Dominguez Hills. Leslie began as a BLAST mentor in 2001.
In March 2004, Leslie received a part-time position as the Volunteer Program
Assistant, and in December 2004, Leslie was promoted to the Volunteer Program
Coordinator. In the summer of 2008 Leslie was promoted again as the Director
of Mentoring Services. Leslie's duties include overseeing the Academic Mentoring
Program including the supervision of the Volunteer Program Coordinators, site
liaisons, and interns. She also acts as the primary contact with college faculty.







Kehau
Fujikami, Director of Operations

Kehau Fujikami holds a B.S. degree in Business with an emphasis in
Management Information Systems from California State University, Long Beach.
Kehau Fujikami began with BLAST in the Fall 2001 semester as a volunteer for
one of her CSULB courses. A year later she was hired as the part-time Administrative
Assistant for BLAST. Soon afterward, she bacame the full-time Programs &
Research Assistant. Kehau oversees all office operations and provides administrative
support to all staff members.



Ashley
McKenzie
, Volunteer Program Coordinator A-K

Ashley McKenzie holds a B.A. in Sustainable Development from Prescott
College. Ashley joined BLAST in the Fall of 2008. She comes from a background
of various non-profit work and after school enrichment for youth. Before joining
BLASt, Ashley was an after school teacher at a charter school in Portland,
OR. Ashley will be working alongside Amanda collaborating with volunteers
and after school programs to further carry out BLAST's mission in providing
role models and guidance for youth in need.
Veronica
Rodriguez , Operation Read Coordinator

Veronica Rodriguez holds a B.A. degree in English Education with
an emphasis in Literature from California State University, Long Beach. She
has experiences working with youth through an education internship at the
Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific and as an assistant site director for a
summer camp dedicated to serving underprivileged, at-risk youth. Veronica
oversees all aspects of the Operation Read Program including the recruitment,
training, supervision, and ongoing support of Operation Read tutors. She is
also the primary contact collaborating Operation Read sites.
Karina
Enriquez , Site Director
Northpointe After School Program

Karina
Enriquez received her Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Chicano/Latino studies
from UC Irvine. She joined the BLAST team in August 2007. Karina currently
directs the Northpointe Housing Community After School Program. She oversees
the site Team Leaders, Technology Lab Supervisor, and mentors.
The Northpointe
After School Program Staff assist the Site Director in the implementation
of program activities. Northpointe staff include Team Leaders:

Amanda
Stemen , Volunteer Program Coordinator L-Z

Amanda Stemen holds a B.S. degree in Psychology with minors in Recreation
and Athletic Coaching from Central Michigan University. Amanda Stemen first
joined BLAST in August 2005 as a Site Director for a year. She has since rejoined
the team as a Volunteer Program Coordinator in January 2008. Amanda has worked
for a number of after school programs, as well as taught elementary school.
Amanda will work alongside the other Volunteer Program Coordinator to effectively
support the growing number of BLAST mentors and collaborate with partnering
after school programs.
